Horizon Auto Logistics expands in Puente Villa Rica
Horizon Auto Logistics is expanding its Puente Villa Rica Automotive City outside of Veracruz, Mexico.
"With current growth and demand we have now expanded our footprint at the Puente Villa Rica Automotive City by another 24 acres’’, says Carlos Renteral, General Manager of Horizon Auto Logistics in Mexico. In total the company now has close to 70 acres, which is all paved and secured. Once fully developed, the total acreage will be around 110 acres and will be able to handle about half a million cars per year. Carlos continues, "In reality we can expand beyond 110 acres, land availability is not an issue, but realistically we see half a million of cars annually as our target". The company expects to grow the footprint and operations inside the port of Veracruz as well during next year.
On top of the land expansion, the Vehicle Processing Centre (VPC) has been built out by another 2000 m², making it a state-of-the-art processing facility of 3000 m² in total.
This is very important combined with land and volume growth, being able to provide sufficient capacity for efficient technical services required by our customers.
Since the washing bays and undercoating pits are located adjacent to the VPC, all value added and technical services are provided on a footprint of about 4000 m².
Horizon Auto Logistics is currently handling about 150 000 cars annually, providing a full range of services in the automotive supply chain, from vessel cargo operations, port operations, yard and VPC operations, inland transportation and distribution management. "It’s what we call Total Logistics with full visibility through our operative system, providing track and trace 24/7’’, Carlos concludes.
The New Horizon.
